Hello, I am currently a second year master's student in comparative literature at Sorbonne University (Parsi IV). I also completed a DESS in Teaching French as a Second Language (FLE). This year I am preparing for the teaching competitions (CAPES, Agrégation de Lettres Modernes). I have been giving private lessons for three years now, allowing me to gain experience day by day. I also gave FLE lessons to students and adults as part of two linguistic services (CREIPAC and Groupe LDL). I give Grammar, English and French lessons to those needing academic support in these subjects. Concerning my course in English, I completed a Preparatory Class for Grandes Ecoles (hypokhâgne/khâgne) which allowed me to acquire a C1 level in English. Attain a fluent level of spoken and written English We will begin by identifying the student's greatest interests — those subjects they are most curious about and topics that stimulate them. These topics will be "stimulators", fueling conversations and language activities that the student themselves will eventually lead. Then, we will identify the student's biggest worries regarding the English language — where they are confused, or tend to make mistakes. This will form the workshop part of the lesson, focused on overcoming tricky grammatical mistakes and revising more complex linguistic and phonetic errors. In class, the students and I used these articles to study the language, discuss the vocabulary and grammar as well as the language style used. In New York, I did not teach a language, but fashion design at the University (FIT Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC) for several years. All classes were taught in English with the student body consisting of international students, which required detailed preparation of the class. At the High School of Fashion Industries (HSFI), also in NYC, I taught fashion design and creation to students grade 9 - 12. Here too, the lessons were exclusively taught in English. For my teachings, I developed daily detailed lesson plans to not only make sure that the predetermined class goals were easily reached, but also to ensure that the class content was tailored to the students' needs and that a positive learning climate was promoted.
