Learning to play the guitar can be an amazing experience at every stage of the process! My ultimate goal is to help my students to develop their skills and musical understanding by learning and playing music that they like. Therefore I adapt my teaching methodologies to the tastes and needs of every student. Throughout every lesson, we will work on three main courses of development: technical aspects, theoretical knowledge, and performative practice. My classes are open for anyone who would like to enjoy exploring the universe of music: beginners and advanced, children and adults, you are all welcome to book the first lesson.

Music to me is life, and I find great joy in sharing what I learn and helping others on their musical journey. I would love to help you learn how to play the guitar, based on your tempo. My name is Teis. I am a Danish guitarist trained in Jazz music at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and USC Thornton School of Music (Los Angeles). I have played since age 7, studied since age 13, and played professionally since age 18. I work professionally as a band leader, composer, and side person. After around 25 years of experience on the guitar, I can confidently say that I am equipped to share the knowledge that I have accumulated over the years. In all honesty: I have never found myself to be particularly "talented". But I am a hard worker. I truly believe that talent is not something you are born with, but something you can develop and grow. Together we will explore secrets and tips for a healthy guitar routine. We will improve your technique and ear training abilities with direct and fun exercises. Whether you are just a beginner or an intermediate/advanced guitarist, we can explore the instrument and all its possibilities. Practicing and playing with a teacher in a one-on-one situation is the most effective way to get better faster, and I advise it to all the guitar and music lovers out there. In my guitar course, we start from where you are at and set a goal fitting to what you want to achieve. For example, our focus could be a.o.: Fingerpicking Soloing Accompanying yourself Songwriting Two ways to go about it; Single lesson: We go from where you are at the moment, and I help you move forward. 5 or 10 lesson bundle: I will make a detailed plan for you and we will conclude the lessons with a performance of some sort. I will help you elevate and broaden your skill set, in your preferred style, but also ear training and theory. We will build a sustainable practice routine together, and you will get access to a library of practice play-alongs and manuals, that you can use to build a solid platform as a musician! I'm offering lessons for anyone interested in learning how to improvise, regardless of the instrument you play or the style you would like to improvise in. Even if you have no or little theory knowledge yet, I have a way of getting you started with improvisation and then teaching you everything theoretical you need to know. Topics might include: - Improvising based on the melody of a song or simple motives - Common song forms for improvisation - Theory: Harmony, Rhythm, Ear Training - Jazz specific: Bebop and Modern Language - Listening to and understanding solos of great improvisers

I have been playing classical piano for 14 years. Obviously a lot solo, but also in ensembles, as an accompanist for flutists, violinists, clarinetists and singers. I was also a paid rehearsal director and pianist for a music theater company for a while and I played concerts in an orchestra. More importantly, I also enjoy teaching! Whether you are just starting out or have been working for some time, together we can tinker with your technique and execution.

I perform and have performed with renowned musicians and bands from many different scenes and styles, bringing me to venues all over the world (USA, UK, Germany, Denmark, France, Romania, Portugal, Spain...). Throughout my career I had won numerous prices and was able to perform throughout Europe. I’m currently studying at the Conservatory van Amsterdam. I’m teaching private lessons as well as giving masterclasses at festivals. Hey peeps! I love to give guitar lessons in a relaxed mood that will not put pressure on you, only giving you feedbacks that will improve your practice. The first lessons will generally consist of covering the basics by learning simple songs. Depending on how it goes, we will go straight into learning songs that you want to play, where you will learn even more! I have over a decade of experience teaching in a variety of settings so I have a method to suit everyone, whether you want to play your very first note or are ready to step on stage for a concerto. I cover all aspects of flute playing including note reading, sound production, posture, technique as well as musicality and expression. I am based in Amsterdam and am happy to travel to your home in the nearby area. Alternatively, you can travel to the centre of Amsterdam where I teach.

If you’re interested in learning the flute and/ or gaining a new understanding of music through harmony, this lesson will provide that for you. If you choose to, we’ll cover technique, improvisation, reading music, tone control and expression. We’ll also go over the fundamentals of harmony to give you the tools that will help with any other instrument. Your listening skills will also be developed. All entirely up to you, of course, we’ll only go as far as you wish.
