Benoît - Biot30€
Trusted teacher: Learn real French, as spoken in the street, in shops or at work. The lessons are based on actual communication in French. Imagine you met a French person who didn't speak or understand English, and you had to communicate... how would it go? maybe it would be difficult? especially at first?... Thankfully I am used to this situation and have many techniques to overcome the difficulties of the language barrier: 1) I always use a whiteboard to illustrate my explanations. It may not seem like much but the use of pictures to illustrate an explanation makes it so much clearer! It also stimulates the imagination and increases students Pictionary skills. 2) A great deal of miming enters the communication. A student who wants to talk about his pet parakeet but doesn't know the French word "perruche" will have fun acting like a bird, imitating cage bars with his fingers, chirping merrily... When I finally understand what he is doing, I happily shout out the word PERRUCHE! as if I had just won a game. The student is happy he managed to make himself understood, and all the miming and effort will act as a powerful stimulant for his memory. 3) So in lessons we use miming, drawing, and also ... talking!! I love to teach students to use French words they already know in order to discover new French words. Students often know I'm bilingual so if they don't know a word, for example "beginning" in French, they will ask me "comment dit-on beginning en Français". So I look dumb and I ask them "C'est quoi BEGINNING? (What is BEGINNING?). And I always use a strong French accent on the English word to emphasise the fact I DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH!! They often laugh at my reaction and search for ways to explain. Sometimes they have difficulties to explain, so I help them. Yesterday my eleven-year-old student was at a loss, but I showed him he could simply use the opposite « La Fin » (the end) to make me understand he is searching for « Le Début » (the beginning). Lessons are lively, interactive and effective. A vous de jouer !

Audrey - Paris28€
Trusted teacher: My name is Audrey! I'm a student in international relations and Chinese foreign languages at INALCO. Because of my studies and having traveled a lot, I know how difficult it can be to learn a foreign language and how difficult it can be to overcome certain levels. That's why I offer you my help! I am a French native from Poitou Charente in the west of France and I studied in Paris. I now live in Taiwan (Taipei). For several years, I have been teaching French to children and adults of all levels. I have accompanied Koreans, Iranians, British, etc. My goal is that you enjoy learning French and reach your goals. The course will be totally personalized and adapted to your needs and interests. I will also introduce you to the French culture during our lessons (current events, highlights of the year, etc.) because in order to learn a language you need to understand the culture of the country. My classes will focus on the five skills: speaking, writing, listening, reading, and grammar. Of course, if you wish to work on only one aspect in particular, this will be possible. We can use the material you have or we can also work with the resources I have. At your request and according to your needs I can give you homework to continue your efforts outside of our classes. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I will be happy to discuss with you your expectations, your goals, and my work method. I look forward to helping you in your quest to master the French language. See you soon!

Jade
Jade is a truly excellent teacher of the French language with whom I have been having lessons for over a year. She’s is not only a native French speaker, but holds degrees in Linguistics, Teaching and Business, and has significant experience of teaching French over many years. The benefit of this is that she is able to effortlessly teach at any level, with a focus on actually speaking the language in conversation. We have had discussions about things as simple as ordering food in a restaurant to subjects as complex as planning application submissions and urbanism rules (I am an architect). I am certainly not a natural linguist, but through her teaching I have gone from someone who was nervous about ordering a croissant in French, to gaining the confidence to deal with the complex language found in the workplace, and in day-to-day life in France. I would highly recommend Jade, whether you are visiting Paris for a short holiday and want to brush up on some vocabulary, or have moved here permanently and want to broaden your command of the French language.

PRIVATE COURSES OF FRENCH-FLE ALL LEVELS GIVEN BY PROF PARTICULIER IN BORDEAUX (Bordeaux)
Madeira
I started classes with Madeira in preparation for an interview to a French Medical School. While I had a fairly okay level of French already, Madeira really helped me polish my language skills and achieve the level of refinement and ease in my formal conversational skills which I needed for my interview. She was able to expertly identify what areas I needed to improve upon, and through her exercises and feedback I was able to greatly improve my oral skills. Madeira was also incredibly receptive to any requests that I had regarding things which I wanted to work on, and she went above and beyond in helping me understand technical portions of French grammar with which I have always had issues. Overall, I strongly recommend Madeira as a French teacher to anyone attempting to improve on their French skills.

Benoît
Benoit is a natural teacher and I think has the rare quality to empathise with his students. So whether he is teaching young children, bright adults or struggling grown ups like myself he can sense your difficulties and intuitively develop your skills. I found his manner easy, engaging and with just the right amount of challenge to make you feel progress and confident. To my surprise we spent the first half hour conversing in French. At the end of the lesson he can me work sheets he’d thought about and prepared himself. I would wholeheartedly recommend Benoit. Bravo Benoit. Ian
