Trusted teacher: Hi there! I am currently in my third year studying Classics at Oxford University, with extensive maths knowledge up to A-level and experience teaching abroad. I aim to provide flexible and focused lessons that are specifically tailored to the individual needs of the student. Once we’ve discussed the particular areas you’re finding challenging or want to work on, these tutorial sessions can be focused towards discussing particular concepts for better understanding and working through examples together, before moving on to practising exercises and past questions on your own to be marked. If you are working towards an exam, we will also go through exam techniques and effective revision methods, again to suit you! I offer regular feedback and like to set specific goals which students can work towards. I propose courses of: - French (grammar, spelling, conjugation): refresher training and academic support; - French literature: support in middle and high school, preparation for the French baccalaureate; - Ancient languages and literatures (Latin and ancient Greek); - HLP specialty (Humanities, Letters and Philosophy): academic support and training for tests; - Methodology: French baccalaureate, specialty tests, entry into a Bachelor of Arts, etc. Currently in Master 2 (Bac +5), I have a degree in Classical Letters. Specializing in ancient literature, I have been preparing high school students for the French baccalaureate for four years now, or, more recently with the reform, for the HLP specialty test. I was also able to help with academic support for students having difficulty in French, from kindergarten to bac +2. In addition, I intervened in high school classes and gave courses at university to L1, literature and language students. My goal is to provide students with clear knowledge allowing them to approach exams with confidence, and to regain confidence in their abilities. I want to let students benefit from the private lesson format, which allows me to really adapt to each profile. Patience, rigor and passion are my key words in my teaching practice. I rely on official programs but also know how to adapt the content of my courses to the demands of each student. My desire is to create a bond of trust with the student, to initiate a conversation on broader issues, to verify and consolidate the basics, and to offer them reassuring support to navigate their educational journey. Due to my own experience, I am able to help students in special situations: I can notably work with IEF (Family Instruction) candidates, in addition to, for example, the CNED. I have also previously worked with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD and/or HPI. I was also able to support students with difficulties linked to anxiety or depression. Please note that I do not have any experience with dyslexic students.

Hello, I’m Sam. I’m currently an University student at Exeter University, studying Economics. I recently left KCS, Wimbledon with three A-Levels (Maths A*, Economics A*, Latin A). I’m keen to tutor students at A-Level or below in either Maths or GCSE or below in Latin. I achieved grade 9s in Maths, Further Maths and Latin at iGCSE. I have experienced tutoring students aged 8-16 over the last 4 years in Maths and Latin, both online and in person. I have further experience working with children having coached football, rugby and cricket for the last 4 years. I am a very flexible tutor, and am happy to teach whatever my student needs most that session, whether it be a homework or concept they don’t quite understand, or revision for an upcoming test. I have a deep understanding of current curriculums, having studied them across various exam boards not too long ago. During sessions, I'd start be seeing where my tutee has been struggling or making mistakes, before walking through practice questions with them, to see how their current level of understanding translates into real, exam-style questions. I aim for my tutees to take the front seat during sessions, in order that they are doing all the critical thinking, in order to help them practise without my help. I may also set a few short homeworks to ensure my tutees are consolidating what they have learnt, and don't forget it all by the time our next session comes around! My main aim is for my tutees to enjoy the subject! By enjoying it, you will be more inclined to concentrate, and put the work in to achieve their potential by the time exam season comes around. I believe that no matter how a student has performed in their subject in previous years, I can help them achieve the highest grades in their exams, and I will not settle for less!
