I have been tutoring for 5+ years, working with students aged 3-30. I recently graduated from Oxford University, where I studied English and French. I have tutored French, English literature, English as a second language, maths, and general literacy with children of primary school, secondary school and A-level age. I have primarily tutored students in one-on-one settings, but have also worked with pairs, small groups, and within classrooms. I can offer conversation practice, homework help, or general assistance with grammar, vocabulary, written expression – anything you need :) My style of tutoring focuses on boosting students' confidence while building familiarity with subject matter, giving them the tools to develop and express their ideas. I am confident in my communication skills, having worked with a large range of ages and done youth work in other sectors. I encourage students to develop an interest in their work by pointing them towards subject matter that extends slightly beyond the syllabus. My teaching materials and approach differ greatly between subjects, and from student to student - I devise a programme of teaching and learning in collaboration with students/parents/teachers (as relevant) and adapt to the individual needs of the student.
