I am a qualified, experienced and enthusiastic teacher of physics, maths and economics. I have a PhD in Physics from the University of Glasgow, where I studied the sub-atomic and quantum effects of interactions between high intensity laser beams and aromatic molecules. I also have an M.Sci. degree in Physics from the University of Glasgow and an M.Sc. in Economic Management and Policy from the University of Strathclyde. I am also a UK qualified teacher with a PGCE from Nottingham University. Since qualifying as a secondary school teacher in 2014 I have taught at some of Europe’s most prestigious schools. Most of my current work involves teaching highly personalised lessons to students wishing to improve or excel at the IB, A Level or GCSE exams. I have also helped physics undergraduate students to improve both their theoretical knowledge and their experimental skills. Before becoming a full-time tutor I worked as a research scientist and, later, as a medical physicist. So I bring not only a strong passion for science and maths into my lessons but a practical, real-world context for the subjects. I help students achieve the highest possible grades by tackling their areas of difficulty and building their confidence. My aim is to ensure students understand the fundamental concepts in order to build knowledge and apply this in exams. My educational background: 1999-2002 Ph.D. Physics, University of Glasgow 1994-1998 M.Sci. Physics, University of Glasgow 2013-2014 PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education), Nottingham University 2009-2012 M.Sc. Economic Management and Policy (distance learning), University of Strathclyde

Giacomo
Giacomo is a professional and prepared tutor in his field as specified in his profile.I had urgent business statistics assignments to do with short deadlines and he came to the rescue literally. He asked me to send him the work which he took a look at in advance and therefore was prepared for our session before hand.He explained to me things in a clear and detailed way making it easy for me to understand and able to do the assignment on time.I really appreciate his teaching methods and his preparation because I have had experiences with other tutors and one main problem with the tutors is preparation, language barrier and even teaching in a clear way.Giacomo scored all for me.I really appreciate and thank you.I definitely recommend you!

Oliver
We are just getting started, but our experiences with Oliver have been great so far. He is prompt to communicate, professional and very patient. He does a good job of understanding where my daughter is, helping her at her level, and not making her feel bad that she is having a tough time with Math. Highly recommend!
