Hello, I'm Adelina! I'm Romanian and I've recently graduated my master’s in violin performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. Apart from playing music, one of my other passions is teaching. As my profession requires, I’m calm, communicative and have quite a lot of patience. I’m fluent in Romanian and English, however I’m able to have basic conversations in Russian as well and I’m in the process of learning Dutch. Do you want to start learning English? The way I teach Romanian is very informal. I have a lot of patience, I like to repeat myself and also to give freedom for the student to make mistakes and to experiment everything that has in mind regarding this language. I can provide materials and exercises for any kind of level!

I am a trilingual student (French, English and Romanian) in the last year of my degree in literature and didactics at the University of Strasbourg (France). I specialize in French, English and Romanian language courses as well as in the preparation of language tests (DELF or DALF, TOEFL…) The first session allows us to determine your level and your objective during a friendly and structured discussion. At the end of this session, I establish a personalized learning contract with you. The following sessions take place in the form of conversation workshops during which we work on topics related to your learning contract. The course can be held entirely or partially in French, English or Romanian.

As I am a native Romanian speaker, having achieved 10/10 in all my Romanian high-school examinations, I can provide Romanian language lessons and also unauthorised Romanian-English or English-Romanian translations. A graduate in a foreign language and bilingual French-Romanian, I support you in learning French and Romanian in terms of the four CEFR skills: understanding, speaking, reading, writing. I listen to your needs and work with you to establish learning objectives. At the base of my pedagogy is dialogue and mutual trust. Listening comprehension is the basis of all my lessons: dialogues, songs, videos, stories. Together, we put in place the strategy that best suits your needs. We may use Google Docs to follow up in writing and to keep a written record. I also speak English if that can help you.

My most important goals inside the classroom are to both offer a pleasant learning environment, however also to offer one in which each student's specific goals are met. That is, no doubt, not always very simple however, I believe my style of focusing on student needs makes it more often than not, succeed. Inside the classroom, I prefer to use a communicate approach to teaching, one that strives to emulate real life situations a 2nd language speaker would be confronted with: anything from normal conversations with a friend or acquaintance to dealing with clerks inside the bank, or communicating with a doctor inside a doctor's office.

You'll learn Romanian as it's spoken today in everyday situations - from basic survival skills for beginners, through to fluent discussions on contemporary issues for more advanced learners. The goal of the courses is to develop effective communication skills and to improve the students' knowledge of Romanian. The emphasis is on the communicative method of teaching and on the four key language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Topics levels A: introducing yourself, getting directions, daily program, getting a taxi, hotel reservation, buying fruit and vegetables, ordering food and drinks, public places, an invitation, at the pharmacy, etc. Topics levels B: places of interest, cities of Romania, online guides, family members, a medical appointment, phone conversations, spectacles & culture, about hobbies, sports, weather, etc. Please note that classes are only ONLINE and no certification will be provided for students, as this platform is for personal use of learning a language.
