About my service I provide coaching for students in the area of science and mathematics. The lessons are designed to enable students to improve their understanding of the school subjects and thus their grades. The target audience are students from primary school up to high school. The lesson is usually roughly structured in three parts: - Together with the student I go over the homework, or the work that was done during the last questions are answered and facts explained. - The learned concepts are applied repeatedly to problems and exercises to fortify the understanding and help the student become more at ease with applying them. - If the time and the situations allows it, the student is prepared for his next lesson at school so that he or she will be able to follow it better. In addition to the subject matter I try to teach how to learn, which is a skill that is sadly not often taught at school. This includes, amongst others, how to organize, how to take notes, how to memorize facts and formulas and how to prepare for exams. This provides a longer lasting benefit for the student.
