I am currently doing my second Masters in Music Performance at the Hochschule der Künste Bern. Coming from Singapore/London, both English and Mandarin Chinese are my first languages. I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at the age of 16. I also speak fluent Polish, French and a little German. I take students of all ages, and have experience with students as young as 4 years old. After many years of teaching clarinet, I would like to pass on my knowledge and arouse enthusiasm and interest in music in everyone, regardless of age or ability. What is this - Suzuki method? The Suzuki Method is suitable not only for children but also for adults as it provides an excellent technical foundation for playing your favorite songs! If you have been dreaming of playing the flute for a long time, I am here to help you. Talent is not inherited. It is a product of energy and patience. Children grow up in a rich and diverse environment, accepting the world around them spontaneously and intuitively. They grow up in an atmosphere of joy and positivity. Parents believe unconditionally in their children, their success, their luck, their talent. They learn eagerly through repetition by imitating their favorite people. Language and music are perceived through hearing. There is a sensitive period in childhood when a child learns to speak naturally. The sensitive phases are important. That's why we have to bring music into a child's life as early as possible (Maria Montessori also talks about "sensitive phases"). The child learns and improves at their own individual pace. A successful task is an incentive for new achievements. We can learn and master anything we want. All it takes is patience, perseverance and time. The surrounding world is a living source of sensitivity and receptivity. Man is a child of his environment. Constant repetition, listening to the repertoire, learning to play by heart is a natural way to learn an instrument, just like the native language. Parents have a great responsibility as home teachers, not just attending classes and helping with practice at home. Your job is to be dedicated to the continued teaching of the Suzuki approach, creating a musical environment, learning the basics of playing and caring for the instrument, and creating a general atmosphere of affection, support and understanding. The most important component for success is the willingness of parents to regularly take time to work closely with the child and the teacher. The Suzuki method is a teacher-mentor who walks the path with the child, who does not dominate, but shows his knowledge and authority, and for the mother, this inner authority helps create a harmonious union of the three - teacher - parent - child - to create the so-called Suzuki triangle (triangle). Individual clarinet lessons for children and adults (all levels (English, German, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian)). Available online as well! I believe that all knowledge comes with a price of a change which then provokes us again to start learning ourselves and finding the best possible ways of expression. On the other side, my pedagogical idea is to allow pupils/students to explore themselves and to give them enough space and possibilities to try out, risk, and eventually find their way of communicating. Also, my aim as a teacher is to show that the process of learning and exploring is always, if done properly, first of all, an exploration of oneself, and therefore, cannot and should not become a dull process of receiving information without an obvious purpose. My experience as a teacher has shown me that between very young (5-12) and older people (19-27), (the age groups with whom I have worked), there is actually no big difference and that the only thing which separates the teaching process is the approach towards them as personalities. With this said and including the fact that I am experienced in working with both groups of people, I over in my add lessons to everybody, without age or skill difference. I am fluent in all clarinets from the clarinet family including the baroque clarinet and the contrabass clarinet.
