This class, specifically, is for people who are not native Dutch speakers and wish to sharpen their skills. The level you are on now does not matter, if anything, the less you know the more room there is for improvement! I have been tutoring and teaching Dutch for quite some time and have therefore gained a significant amount of experience. I am very much willing to take the time and make you grow step by step. Or, if by any chance, you need one-time help with for example an assignment then this is fine too!

As a former primary school teacher and experienced Dutch teacher for adults and children, I enjoy helping others achieve their language goals. Together we will make a plan that fits your personal needs, whether they include exam preparation (Inburgering/Staatsexamen), being able to confidently hold (informal or formal) conversations with friends and coworkers, understanding grammar rules, being able to watch Dutch TV or anything else: I will help you get there! The lessons can be held online or on location in Amsterdam (and the surrounding area).

I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

In our class we will be relaxed, I will help you with the Dutch conversation, the grammar, reading (like an article or a topic what I will give you). I will help students for beginners-lower-intermediate level. After every lesson I will give you homework for the next lesson. Prepare in an efficient, intensive way for the ITNA (Interuniversity Language Test Dutch), based on tailor-made exercises. We practice together on language in use, grammar and vocabulary, gap texts, structuring exercises, dictation, presentations and argumentation. Are you preparing for the civic integration exam/ het inburgeringsexamen? I would be happy to help you pass the exam successfully. We will use practice exams to get you more comfortable with the questions and I'll give you tips. We will also look into the grammar points that are necessary for the exam. We will work on all 4 aspects: speaking skills, writing skills. reading skills and listening skills.
