I'm looking for student's who not only want to learn a great technique for singing but whom also want to find and develop their own unique sound so they can express themselves through the art of song and tell a story. I am a trained singer- songwriter & professional musician with a BA (hons) in Composition. Originally from london I moved to Brussels to do my masters degree. I am a trained singing with a level of grade 8, I have also spent the last 6 years touring as a front women and also a backing singing with various artists around europe, including 1 top 10 artist. I understand that although it's great to have a strong technique it's also about letting go and having confidence in your ability so you can relax in the moment. I welcome students of all levels and all ages and teach a range of genres from Jazz to Rock. Alternatively I am happy to focus on technique if that is something you prefer to work on. This course is for those who want to regain confidence in their voice and find the pleasure of thrilling to those who want to improve their singing techniques adapted to them. I propose sessions based on a very particular approach to the voice, both as a tool of "diagnosis" and self-exploration, both as the most intimate and enjoyable musical instrument. A moment of "vibratory pleasure" associated with precious vocal tools to anchor oneself in one's body and singing with authenticity, refining one's listening and sensitivity towards one's self and one's surroundings. Where does it join the work of singing? We will work : - Body anchoring and breathing enhancement (based on yoga practices and Do in) - Relaxation and resonance in all areas of the body (vowel sounds, syllables, harmonic singing) - anchoring the sound (placement of the voice, correctness of the notes and rhythms) to find confidence in his voice and his song. At the end of the session, we will work on the interpretation of a song or a song proposed or of your choice. I studied Language Sciences and Literature in Paris, where I also did tutoring sessions for students in difficulty. I also studied Game Design and Narrative Design. Being a musician, I write song lyrics for several projects. I have been writing poetry and freelance writing for over 10 years. I am also a content creator for a French-speaking Belgian webzine; Shoot Me Again. My background in literature and linguistics helped me to have a sensitivity to language. I bring a lot of importance to the weight of the words and to the rhythm in my writings. My diverse experience has helped me build a solid background. I can teach poetry, how to write song lyrics, spontaneous writing for the Spoken Word for example but also how to structure an article, a dissertation or any other writing. Passionate about the performing arts since childhood, I first studied the violin, then dance and theater to finally combine time with lyrical singing. I studied musical comedy and then opera in various courses including the National Conservatory of Music in Paris. I have been giving private lessons for several years and I have created several musical shows with amateur adults in associative settings. Each voice is unique! Graduated in composition and Orchestration and in the art of theater and directing, having a Master in Musical Theater at the Sorbonne University Paris and a doctorate of advanced research in the art of singing and musical interpretation , I propose singing and interpretation lessons, based on the understanding and implementation of the Belt technique (breathing, voice placement, flexibility of diaphragmal pressure, diction) and a practical application of the theatrical method from Stanislavski for a thorough understanding and discovery of the theatrical interpretation of songs. Dear students: My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and classical music with an active performing life, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals.
