I give chess lessons to students wishing to improve their level of chess. I can teach beginner and intermediate students. For beginners, I can teach them basic chess such as how to set up the board, how pieces move and are captured, castling, check and checkmate..... For intermediate students, I can teach them tactics, openings, traps, tricks and mistakes in opening........ What sets me apart from other teachers is that I will teach you a way to learn on your own. A way that you can improve while you are at home from the comfort of your couch.

I have 30 years of experience playing chess, I am a candidate master of Latvia, having an international (FIDE) rating of 2088, and an English Chess Federation rating of 2145, which is quite a good level. I am especially good at blitz and rapid. My greatest achievement is 1st place in English Open Women & Girls Rapid Championship in 2019. I have around 10 years of experience teaching chess to juniors and adults. I have been tutoring many students across the UK and have helped them to progress in chess and some of them gained great achievements in the tournaments and were qualified for the next competitions. I can teach basic concepts, moves, strategies, and tactics for beginners and help to improve the game technique of intermediate or advanced players, suggesting theory, ideas, and winning game plans.

Chess is a fun game that starts with the basic rules and moves through the 3 parts of the game: the opening, the middlegame, and the endgame. The focus at first is to teach you how the pieces move, what the goal of the opening is, and how the pieces interact. You will also learn the vocabulary related to chess and chess notation.
