Writing workshop -academic writing and essay structure

My basic premise is that anything you can say, you should be able to write. My strengths are in thematic reading of the text, literary techniques and essay writing. I usually work with the student to help them build a strong understanding of the text, and its wider historical and social content, before helping them to understand its themes and key ideas. From there I work with my students to strengthen their writing (factual or creative) and building of their own ideas on paper. I use a variety of exercises and mediums (film, poetry, novels, rap etc) to achieve this.

As writing is an ever-evolving field, I feel learning is very much a two-way process, and try to use dialogue, discussion and contextual materials and examples to build the student's understanding. I really enjoy this field and try to bring my enthusiasm, knowledge and experience to every class I teach.

I have deeply enjoyed European History high school, where I received top marks, through university to the present, where I still read and learn history on a regular basis. I am familiar not only with the impact of wider trends such as the printing press, reformation, industrialization and colonization across history but also with the specific histories (and personalities that make them) of the UK, France, Germany, Russia and Spain. Since learning the Annales approach to history I have been really keen about learning history from a wide variety of perspectives. In recent years, I have particularly tried to focus on history retold from the perspective of those left out of the traditional view, which is really just anyone who isn't a white, upper-class and male. This broader and more complex view of history leads to a more nuanced understanding of the past, particularly from a social perspective.
I have deeply enjoyed US History since high school, where I received top marks, through university to the present, where I still read and learn history on a regular basis. I am most familiar with mainland history from US Independence to the present day, however am always trying to improve my knowledge about Native American history, and the territories. I have also studied extensively the impact of the US on the wider world and it's relations with the global community. I believe it is important to teach history from a wide variety of perspectives. I have deeply enjoyed Australian History since high school, where I received top marks, through university to the present, where I still read and learn history on a regular basis. I am most familiar with Australian history from European arrival, through Federation and the conflicts of the 21st century, through to present day. However am always trying to improve my knowledge of Indigenous history. I have also studied extensively Australia's global relationships over time, with countries such as the UK, the US and China. This class is aimed to provide guidance and help for anyone studying political science, government or international relations. I aim to structure all my lessons to broaden my student's worldview, challenge their assumptions and test the logic of their arguments. I am able to bring a unique synthesis of perspectives to all my lessons to help my students to use political science, government and IR theories to analysis current global issues. I also have a strong background in essay writing and logic which I use to help test and strengthen the theses of their essays. As this is an ever-evolving field, I feel learning is very much a two-way process, and try to use dialogue, discussion and contextual materials and examples to build the student's understanding. I really enjoy this field and try to bring my enthusiasm, knowledge and experience to every class I teach.
I deeply enjoy Shakespeare and have been tutoring Shakespeare for eight years now. I did well in English in high school and have been tutoring English for several years, and Shakespeare has always been an integral part of that. I generally have two primary goals. Firstly, helping students to understand the language itself. If a student is new to Shakespeare or lacking confidence in English, the plays can seem intelligible. However, if you work through the text patiently with a student, and show them how it works with modern day English, their confidence generally grows and so does the accessibility of the text for them. This leads me to my second goal with the student, which is to help them understand the themes and value of the text, so they can see how it relates to their reality. Depending on the student’s engagement, objectives and learning style, this can be done a variety of ways such as using modern adaptations, videos or breaking it down line by line. I work to be flexibly and adapt my teaching to the student as much as possible, to ensure the most positive experience for them.
¡Hola! ¿Qué tal? I have been speaking Spanish for seven years and studied it as a minor in my Bachelor's degree. I have lived and volunteered in Spain and travel there regularly, aswell as read, speak and write in Spanish daily. Not only do I have a strong understanding of Spanish grammar and vocabulary and a deep love of the language but I also understand how to learn it, as it is my second of five languages. As I have done when teaching Spanish in the past, I'm able to understand the conceptual gaps and differences between the student's first language (particularly if it's Latin or Asian) and work with the student to jump over those hurdles towards greater comprehension. I use a communicative approach which focuses on building the student's fluency and confidence. Finally, I have a strong understanding of Spanish and Latin American culture and history, and so am able to use interesting and contextually relevant materials to keep lessons engaging and lively.
I have deeply enjoyed history and historiography from high school, where I received top marks, through university, where we studied history from Australia, the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, to the present, where I still read and learn history on a regular basis. In recent years, I have particularly tried to focus on history retold from the perspective of those left out of the traditional view, which is really just anyone who isn't a white, upper-class, European male. This broader and more complex view of history leads to a more nuanced understanding of the past, particularly from a social perspective. I try to bring this knowledge to the classroom, to help the student understand history contextually and how it is shaped through an interplay of individual personalities and social, economic and political trends. I work to include as much primary evidence as possible and always encourage students to approach both primary and secondary sources critically, considering the bias and intention of the source. If I'm not familiar enough with the particular aspect of history the student is studying, I will do the necessary research to be able to help them competently. I really enjoy history and try to bring my enthusiasm, knowledge and experience to every class I teach.
I have a broad background in NGO work, having worked and volunteered in our sector for ten years across seven countries, as well as a Masters in NGO Management and Social Enterprise from the University of Technology, Sydney, I combine this with ten years of experience as a private tutor. I aim to structure all my lessons to broaden my student's worldview, challenge their assumptions and test the logic of their arguments. I am able to bring a unique synthesis of perspectives to all my lessons to help my students to use NGO management theories to analysis current issues and trends in the sector. I also have a strong background in essay writing and logic which I use to help test and strengthen the theses of their essays. As this is an ever-evolving field, I feel learning is very much a two-way process, and try to use dialogue, discussion and contextual materials and examples to build the student's understanding. Learn Arabic Alphabet Letters And Sounds For Non Natives Of All Ages
This course is for those who want to start learning the Arabic language or who need a deepening knowledge in addition to the courses they are already taking. Having taught classical Arabic for non-natives for almost five years now in addition to having Moroccan origins, the teaching of this language is for me a pleasure that i would love to share with you. Moroccan dialect classes can be provided according to the wishes of the student. Arabic is a widely spoken language all over the world. If you visit any arabic speaking country and have a hard time reading signs or talking to people in words they understand, then this class is for you. In this class I will teach you all about Arabic alphabets and sounds, heavy material that is primordial to adapt in an arabic society and communicate with its locals. Consonants and vowels in Arabic are simple but if taught in a wrong pattern turn to be very complex. As a specialized language tutor, I have used a well hand tailored method with a lot of non native speakers, who had no clue how or where to start learning arabic, and they all loved how it facilitated their learning process. Book this class now and learn Arabic with me. If you book my class and don't feel that it suits you may get your money back after the first class.

preparatory classes for IELTS / TOEFL / CAE / CPE exams
I graduated from the University of Athens where I attended courses in pedagogics, psychology, and linguistics. I worked at a language center between 2009-2016 where I was a director of studies and taught mainly English as a foreign/second language. Since 2005, when I first started teaching English, I have taught children and adults on a variety of language proficiency levels and with a variety of needs (general knowledge/terminology/for specific purposes), both individually and in groups. I constantly seek progress, meaning that I study further through reading books/articles concerning didactics/methodology and learning difficulties (chiefly dyslexia), observing other teachers as well as attending seminars (online or face-to-face). I will help you learn weird English spelling and pronunciation with fun. I assign homework and after I receive it, correct it thoroughly additionally providing a lot of remarks/examples if they are necessary. During my lessons I use : - Skype/Whatsapp/Messenger to connect with you, - Google Docs to keep notes, which you can check at any time and they are yours to keep, - sketch board me to make mind maps to show connections between ideas, etc. - books, PPP, word docs, diagrams, pics, etc. - pronunciation/spelling/grammar games, - authentic materials were taken from websites. I adore my profession and desire each and every one of my students be satisfied with the lesson. That's why I make sure the atmosphere is stress-free and nice. I also want my lessons to be as effective and close to real-life needs as possible. Therefore, I make sure they are well-prepared, although they can be altered at any point, should such an opportunity arise. I like explaining things in a variety of ways as well as make use of dictionaries, diagrams, etc. When it comes to students who want to obtain certificates, I am very demanding. What can I teach? - I would love to help you improve/develop all language skills (speaking/writing-listening/reading + grammar/vocabulary/pronunciation), - I would love to help you prepare for certificates such as IELTS / TOEFL / CAE-ALCE / CPE-ECPE, - I would love to help you with homework and assignments (literature, history) from school and university (but please contact me about that IN ADVANCE).
