Classical singing and piano lessons for all levels and ages
Dear parents and students, I am a professional singer and pianist from Hong Kong, having more than 10 years of experience in music teaching. Having graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor degree in music and Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel with a Master degree in classical singing (cum laude), I am currently pursuing my postgraduate study in singing at Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, under the tutelage of Valerie Guillorit. I am a holder of Licentiate Trinity College of London (LTCL) vocal and piano performance certificates, both with distinctions. Besides, I am a holder of ABRSM Grade 8 music theory certificate with merit. I have performed as soloist at a lot of occasions in Hong Kong and Europe, and the repertoire includes opera, Lied, oratorio and new music. I have given singing and piano lessons to students ranging from 2 to 40 years of age. Very happily, all of them had obtained distinctions in their ABRSM exams and some of them had won prizes in competitions. However, I do not teach them for distinctions and prizes. No matter what they get on their music journey, I love them with all my heart and I always believe that encouragement is the key. For beginners, I focus a lot on basic techniques. During the lessons, I also like to share my knowledge about history and theory, which are important building blocks to shaping a musician. For advanced learners, I would teach more about musicality and music presentation along with basic techniques. Of course, the actual teaching method depends on the personality and ability of student too. I grow up in a top English school in Hong Kong, so I can communicate in English fluently. I am confident that I will give my students the best learning experience. Please feel free to contact me if you would like a trial lesson:)

Do you want to learn how to play saxophone in Amsterdam?
Music is the best way of communication in the world, the most international language and an easy way of sharing. Teaching means a lot for me; it allows me to pass on beautiful things I have learnt and at the same time to improve thanks to my students' feedback. Music and musical teaching are about joy and never-ending curiosity. My lessons are totally compiled on the student's needs, both time-wise and content-wise, and they are aimed to get quick results. We can work out many different topics together, such as learning tunes, technique, improvising, as well as approaching theory, reading, circular breathing, altissimo register and multiphonics... The lessons usually take place in my studio close by Javaplein in Amsterdam or by my house in Bos en Lommer. I work mornings and evenings as well as in the week end. Saxophone is fun! Contact me and get a trial lesson asap, I am looking forward to meeting you.

ABOUT ME: My name is Christian. I'm a professional musician, and have 10 years experience working as a music teacher. I teach Jazz, Classical, Rock and Pop, and Theory. Playing music just about the most fun thing a person can do and my goal is to bring that joy to my lessons. I attended King's College London, where I studied music, majoring in composition, and achieved a 1st Class (Hons) Degree. TEACHING EXPERIENCE: I have been working as a private piano, singing teacher, and music tutor for 10 years, helping students achieve their personal goals, success with their ABRSM and Trinity instrumental exams, and their desired GCSE and A Level Results. I also worked as a peripatetic teacher in a secondary school (Bishop Thomas Grant School) for three years before deciding to make my teaching practice entirely private. While at the school I taught piano, I also tutored GCSE and A Level students through their exams. I also ran the school's jazz band throughout my tenure where I taught jazz, ensemble, and improvisational skills to students on many different instruments. ABOUT OUR LESSONS: In our lessons, I will work with you to come up with a teaching plan that will best suit you. I am very open to all musical styles so will make sure that the material we are covering is always the music you want to be learning! If you or your child would like to pursue grades with ABRSM or Trinity exam boards, you will be pleased to know that my students have had a 100% success rate, with many achieving merit or distinction. Saxophone, music theory and improvisation - all levels
This course is for anyone that's interested to play the saxophone at any level, from the very beginners to students interested in more advanced topics such as improvisation, both in unconventional ways or more founded on the tradition of Jazz. The course will be adapted to the pupils goals and level, with a demanding but not overpowering approach. The frequency can also be optimized to the pupil's necessities: weekly, bi-weekly or monthly (not less). I believe that the main goal of a mentor should ultimately to make the pupil become his own teacher and establish an empatic two-way learning process.
