I started taking violin lessons at the age of 7. After years of training I am currently continuing my violin studies at Utrecht Conservatory. I have also attended music theory class for 6 years, because it is very useful to have some knowledge of it when playing any instrument. Hello! Being a singer and a singing teacher, many many times I have found myself in the situation of having to work on ear training, or solfège, or music theory… or all the above listed! Approaching music and having no clue of these elements can totally be intimidating and off-putting, but in 2023 I feel like it’s a pity that these subject still are looked at with such a fear. I want to prove to you that building these basic knowledge can be easy, accessible and not heavy at all! My program is not fixed: I’ll build it on your specific needs, wether they are preparing an exam, curiosity, getting better at pitch matching… we will discuss together. I have many books and material, and I honestly prefer to draw blackboards by myself a lot of times. Unless you will want to, I won’t ask you to buy any material, so the only cost that you will have to sustain, is for the time of the class.

The way I teach actually depends entirely on the student. The way I explain the concepts, plan and structure the lessons and approach each subject all depends on whether the student is a beginner, intermediate or advanced, and whether he or she has some experience on the subject. Each student has different needs and different abilities. It's just a matter of getting to know the student, in order to identify both the weaknesses and strengths on which to work.
