I have a British Council teaching qualification and am familiar with preparing candidates for European institution interviews as well as students for their European and International baccalaureate exams. Hello! If you can understand this message without having to translate then you are ready for my help! I am from California, and have been living here in Brussels since 2012. I am 39 years old. I speak West Coast (California) English. It's the English you hear in your favorite California movies. I love to help friends who already speak "european street English" while HAVING FUN! Graduate teacher offers an individualized pedagogy, assistance with the preparation of questions or exams. My goal is to advance the student without overburdening him. I have more than three years of experience as an English teacher in schools, English language academies, businesses and private lessons. Understanding and knowing how to speak Dutch and English is a major asset in Belgium. I am bilingual French-Dutch and I would like to be able to help other people progress. I adapt to the level of my student. I can give private lessons or academic support lessons. I am also currently continuing my studies in English. The class will focus on improving oral expression, get to know formal talking but also Spanish slang. The purpose is talk as soon as possible. There will be time dedicated to grammar but practice is expected to be done individually. I will correct exercises outside lessons hours. All these to make the most of ours lessons together !

Hello everyone. I am an Italian born in Brussels. Italian is my mother tongue but I studied in French and English. I teach languages at all levels and ages. My classes will be adapted to the needs of the student and they will be dynamic and interesting.

What to expect? Young children - More of a game/activity learning method but also involves learning a broad scheme of things. It is in a way, an introduction to the basics of the language. Teenagers - Usually involve set goals to reach by a certain period (for school). The teaching method and intensity depends on the amount of catching up to do. If no catch up is required a more friendly learning method can be applied depending on the learner's interests. Adults - More of a discussion-based learning method, depending on the experience of the learner. And can be oriented more towards specific subjects or domains chosen by the learner. It can involve course work or tasks to be done. Why me? I was born in Scotland but I grew up mostly in the french-speaking part of Belgium so I would say that both English and French are my natal languages. I have decent knowledge of the various English cultures, vocabulary, and grammar. Having traveled for a year in North America and having lived in Australia, Ireland, and Britain. My mother is an english teacher in a secondary school and has given private english lessons ever since we moved to Belgium when I was six years old . I have participated or helped in many classes when needed. I have access to a ton of material and her personal knowledge if I or we are experiencing a problem that we can't seem to solve. Or an issue the learner is experiencing that is preventing him/her from advancing. I am a very "auto-ditact" person who tries to maximize the resources I have and the ones I have access to.
