Recorder lessons / blokfluitles (Haarlem/Leiden/Den haag)

I am a recorder and classical singing student at the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague. I have experience with teaching the recorder to students aged 4 to 60 years old.

My lessons are characterized by a relaxed atmosphere and I find it important to listen to the wishes of my students and adapt my lessons to their personal needs. For the younger students, I aim to teach a combination of recorder technique and posture, music theory and singing and stimulate their creativity in a playfull way. In this way they become acquainted with all aspects of music making. I also aim to incorporate ensemble playing in my lessons, together with me or with other students.

About Me

As well as, she had an honour to participate in workshops of Snarky Puppy, Dianne Reeves, Dena DeRose, Bob Stoloff, Norma Winstone, Fay Classon, etc. In addition, she took a course of Stevie Mackey, Cheryl Porter and had lessons with Natalie Weiss. "I feel like voice is a unique thing and music is such a good therapy. I believe everyone can sing, and I believe that everyone could sing greatly if they are patient and put work in it." - Dominyka "I promise that with our singing lessons you will learn more about your own voice and that you will develop your own sound as a singer. We work on warm ups/warm downs, breath support and its control, sound projection, how the larynx, jaw and tongue work and can be functioned freely, vowel placement, vocal effects, vocal colour, dynamics, articulation, stage presence, high notes - power singing (belting), jazz improvisation, vocal improvisation, interpretations, rhythmic variations, and so much more. My goal for you is to have the best time and spend lesson's time wisely while we achieve the best results in singing. If there is a wish, I can also help you to broaden your knowledge about the repertoire that is suiting to your voice colour, recording sessions, live performance situations, "a workout plan for singing", songwriting/composing, music theory, ear-training, solfeggio, and such." I can help all who are interested in finding their own authentic voice. P.S. ALL STYLES ARE WELCOME ! (pop/jazz/rnb/musicals/and so on) If you wish to learn how to play piano, read the notes, learn the basic or advanced music theory, practise solfeggio or learn more about jazz harmony - reach out to me because I teach that as well. Experimental electronic music composition / Free improvisation (theory & practice)
Experimentation is an inherent characteristic of electronic music. Nowadays, composing music using technology creates endless creative possibilities that demand the musician/composer to adapt to numerous technical and artistic challenges. Do you like experimenting with sound and making music that does not clearly belong to a particular genre or style? Interested in bringing a fresh perspective and out-of-the-box thinking to your music production? Are you just starting out in electronic music composition and wondering how to develop your own style? This course is just what you need. In this class, you will learn: - how to transform sound using analogue and digital techniques. - how to create sound structures and organise them in a DAW enviroment to compose a piece of music. - how to record, edit and mix sounds using both conventional and experimental techniques. - how to use improvisation in both the context of live performance and composition. - about the theory and practice of free improvisation. - about the history and origins of electronic music and how it affected the music we listen today. - how to document and communicate procedures related to your artistic practice. - how to create an artistic portfolio. Aspiring musicians with a background in any genre can take advantage of this course. A formal education in music or experience with electronic music composition are not required to follow. However, you should be unafraid of experimenting with sound and music technology! Each class is customized to meet the needs of the individual student in an innovative and flexible way! The course can also serve as a preparation for applying to several Dutch educational programmes related to electronic music composition (Institute of Sonology, HKU, ArtEZ, etc.). The class is focused on small assignments that help the student develop a sense of orientation and set goals. Recording, editing, and mixing will be done via the DAW "Reaper," but we can switch to your preferred software at any time. We will use the first lesson to discuss your background, interests, and motivations in order to develop a course structure that is tailored to your needs.

Composition, Arranging and Songwriting Class for different levels
The structure of the lesson is based on the pupil’s preference in music style, instrument combinations and others. We will talk about the harmony, rhythm and form while the pupil will be asked to create his/her own short works/songs. I always find fascinating to analyze music of the past (for example some of your favorite songs, instrumental works and others) in order to gain a deeper understanding of how these were created and from what musical ingredients they consist. Furthermore, integral part of this course is the understanding of the possibilities of each instrument and the combination of more than one. In this course, you can also learn how to use music notation softwares such as Finale and Musescore in order to notate your own music easily and fast.

Singing Lessons - A motivating, professional team just for you!
The present course is tutored by a Classical Singer and a Classical Pianist, both study connected to the Royal Conservatory Den Haag. It is preferred to work weekly to optimize results. The singing, and main teacher, is always present to assure the vocal progression. The piano coach will be present as often as requested by the student/advised by the teacher. The pupils will then have the best piano accompaniment. The main objective of the course is to work accordingly with the student's goals to give a well-driven direction to our study. The course it's thought with classic technical basics (healthy vocal benefits) but other styles can be added like the musical, jazz, cabaret, etc... Each case will have a personalized answer. The teachers' connection to the Royal Conservatory also ensures that complex problems can be solved by asking the highest experts. > Lesson structure: ✓ The lessons start with body/posture awareness, movement and breathing exercises followed by an individual set of vocalizes that may incorporate some scales, cords and/or improvisation. ✓ After the warm-up, depending on the student's level and goals, some song methods may fallow and/or the repertoire on which we decided to work. ✓ While working on the pieces several kinds of information will be provided: • The Anatomy of the Voice (body, breathing, vocal cord, resonances, prevention and counseling about vocal disorders); • Language and Phonetic knowledge of Italian, French, German, English, Spanish and Portuguese (+ strategies to enable singing in other languages). • Vocal Interpretation, phrase, prosody, colors, coordination with the piano and tools how to personalize the 'message', among others based on appropriate bibliography; • Drama basics, stage preparation, and fright avoidance strategies. • Music Theory and History in order to understand the pieces more deeply through a quick analysis, period and style. ✓ At the end of each season (non-mandatory) public auditions can be arranged whenever an artistic space would be willing to receive great voices and repertoire. This works as progressive training for students individually and/or coupled - ensemble skills. The lessons can be given in English, Spanish and Portuguese. They can be held at the teacher's location or at the student's address. If you would like to have more information please do not hesitate to contact me!

Voice Lessons - Learn how to build your whole singing instrument to make beautiful sounds!
The foundation of my vocal teaching philosophy is rooted in empowering the human being in front of me through the instruction of the vocal arts. Through my study and professional experience, this process consists of careful attention and detail to the breath and body in physical, mental, and kinesthetic sense; understanding of text and interpretation that comes from an authentic place to heighten the beauty of the voice and clear communication of artistry; tuning carefully my ear to not only what sounds good but also feels good; observing if the singing was done with enough poise, ease, and elegance; yield my students to release any unnecessary and extra efforts while inviting freedom that is calm, collected and dynamic; guide my students to learn how to become their own teacher. This is what I hope to impart to my students. I look forward to passing on my own knowledge but furthermore learning from my future students to become an even better teacher.
