Professeur au conservatoire, diplômé d’Etat et musicien professionnel ; je propose des cours pour tous niveaux. Apprentissage ou perfectionnement, j’envisage les cours autour de morceaux correspondant aux envies des élèves. Ayant une formation classique je peux apporter des bases solides de techniques et de lecture de partitions. Mes différentes expériences me permettent aussi de proposer une approche des répertoires jazz et musiques actuelles.

I teach saxophone, clarinet, flute, harmonica, and bass guitar online(virtually). I think it's very important from the beginning to find your individual voice on your instrument. Technique is important, but it will be taught simultaneously with artistic voice. One of the great things about music is being to express your version of yourself on your instrument. What's the point in learning scales if you can't play the song you want to play? From day one, we will focus on all aspects of learning, and of music, at the same time. I'm super patient and I love to teach, and I'll cater my teaching style to the individual student. I look forward to teaching you! About me: I started playing music when I was I ten. I was awarded a partial scholarship to the University of Idaho's Lionel Hampton School of Music where I majored in Classical Saxophone Performance, where I won the Outstanding Jazz Soloist award (2004). I then received a partial scholarship to the Berklee College of Music and studied there with a principal instrument of saxophone, and graduated with a degree in Contemporary Writing and Production in 2009. I've spent the last ten years performing full-time, on cruise ships (Carnival, Princess, Holland-America, Celebrity, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, The World), land tours (iLa Mawana national tour), theatre productions (For The Record: The Brat Pack, Broadway's After Midnight), and independent bands (Samsaya Trio, Vivian Clement Quartet). My performing experience has taken me to 70 countries and all seven continents. I've self-recorded and self- produced multiple albums. I've been featured as an arranger in many settings, including Robert McFletcher's LOVE. I have three of my own shows (A Public Saxophone and other Bedtime Stories, Just Sax, and CBSAXLIVE). While I studied saxophone as my primary instrument, I also play flute, clarinet, harmonica and bass guitar at a professional level. My degree is in composition and recording/production, so I would love to help anyone getting started in that area. I also teach music theory for those interested in learning theory.

Au cours d’une leçon, j’encourage l’élève à travailler sur: la posture, la respiration et la position de la bouche (embouchure), en aidant la projection du son; le développement du ton; J'apprends à l'étudiant à formuler et à jouer une belle mélodie; techniques d'improvisation; comprendre l'harmonie; avoir confiance en ses capacités de jeu; techniques d'écoute et d'interaction avec la section rythmique; apprendre de nouvelles chansons et expérimenter différents styles de musique; Introductions aux principaux saxophonistes. Hello, my name is Matias, I am an Argentine musician, specialized in wind instruments with more than 25 years of experience. I am here to help you on the fantastic path of learning clarinet, saxophone and flute music. Maybe you are just starting out with the instrument or want to perfect your technique or improvisation. During a lesson I encourage the student to work on: posture, breathing and the position of the mouth (embouchure), helping the projection of sound; the development of the tone; i teach the student how to phrase and play a beautiful melody; techniques of improvisation; understanding harmony; having confidence in his/her playing skills; techniques of listening and interacting with the rhythm section; learning new songs and experiencing different styles of music; Introductions to key saxophonists. Above all i encourage my students to have fun with music!

En las clases abordaremos los diferentes elementos que componen la música en diferentes estilos, conociendo el lenguaje particular de cada uno. Para ello, trabajaremos las diferentes herremientas con que contamos con cada instrumento en el nivel en que cada uno se encuentre. Todos sabemos música pero muchas veces nos hacen creer que no, que es necesario saber leer y escribir. Esa es la parte gráfica del lenguaje que aprenderemos poco a poco, la música es un compendio de muchas otras cosas. Algunas que ya conocemos y otras por conocer. Estudiaremos el uso de las llaves y las posiciones del clarinete, o el saxo, la mejor forma de posicionarnos ya sea que toquemos de pie o sentados, la manera más eficiente de utilizar el aire, el diafragma, la musculatura. Aprenderemos a formar una buena embocadura y vamos a desarrollar un método de estudio adaptado a cada uno, según sus gustos, posibilidades e intereses. Trabajo con niños y niñas de diferentes partes del mundo así como con adultos y mayores. En mi experiencia aprendí que, verdaderamente, la limitación más grande que nos encontramos es la propia sensación de no poder, de creer que no podemos. El apoyo de un profesor/a dedicado/a es fundamental para salir de esos lugares en los que entramos sin querer y que a veces nos limitan. Todos sentimos eso alguna vez. Es hora de que lo remediemos. Avant, il a suivi aussi un MASTER D ́INTERPRÉTATION au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles (2015-2017) dans la classe d ́Alain Crepin et Simon Diricq. Il a étudié son baccalauréat à «Musikene» (Conservatoire supérieure de musique du Pays Basque) avec Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar et Miguel Ángel Lorente. Passionné avec la création artistique multidisciplinaire, il pense à le mélange de tous les arts dans le même spectacle comme finalité esthétique. On a pu observer ce type de recherche dans son projet pour son récital final de master à Bruxelles où il a créé un projet basé sur la théorie de la hiérarchie des besoins humains de Maslow où il mélange de la musique en direct, enregistré, de la danse, des jeux de lumière et des effets sous le nom de: “selon Maslow... ” Au niveau de sa carrière comme concertiste, il a joué dans différents ensembles (performances solo, duo, trio, quatuor, orchestre...) et différents pays comme le Japon (Foire musicale artisanale «Suono Italia» 2010), la Belgique (Festival Musiq3 2016), Festival Artonov au BOZAR en 2016...), la France (festival de musique de chambre de Dax 2011) ou l’Espagne (Festival de musique “Quincena Musical” 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Festival Kutxa 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).
