I have experience teaching several music genres, from classical, jazz, pop, folk music and even extended vocal techniques like growls. Singing is a vulnerable, intimate, communal act, and sadly, our modern world has mystified it into the sphere of the "born-talent" ideal. I consider singing an universal right. We all have the capacity and the right to sing. If anybody has told you that you can't sing, they were wrong. Like any skill, you can learn it. And if you sing, you, your body, and your soul will be happier. One of my students once said: "You come for a singing lesson and you discover something new about who you are".
